Student speak: Insta Language, VR, and video submissions

Insta language. Have you heard of it? How about students being challenged with 1-5 minute recorded interviews or skill-based screenings using virtual reality? This session will introduce these concepts and how we have experienced them with our students. Andrew Kohls has uniquely leveraged Insta language to relate to students. He’s published several articles on ways he incorporates Instagram into his career advising. Dana Nordyke is exploring some new ways employers are speaking student’s language through the use of virtual reality and video submissions, especially in the early parts of the recruitment process. Together they offer some tips for how to get on the same page as Gen Z’s.
